Tripoff
Privacy Policy
Last updated July 14, 2026. Tripoff is in early alpha testing — this policy will grow more formal as the product does, but everything below is accurate today.
What we collect
- From you, the organizer: your name, email, and profile photo from Google Sign-In (that's our only sign-in method), plus whatever you enter while planning a trip — home base, party size, budget, travel dates, and the preferences you tell us matter to your family.
- From family members you invite: the ranking or vote they submit through your invite link, and a display name if they give one. Voting never requires an account or an email address.
- Payment info: if you buy a Trip Pass, Stripe handles the actual transaction. Tripoff never sees or stores your card number — we only get a confirmation that a specific trip was paid for.
How we use it
To run the product: build your trip, send your criteria to Anthropic's Claude to suggest and estimate real destinations, score and rank the options your family votes on, and process Trip Pass payments through Stripe. That's it — there's no advertising business here, so there's no reason to use your data for anything else.
Who we share it with
Three services, each doing one job: Google (sign-in), Anthropic (AI destination suggestions — we send trip criteria, not your identity), and Stripe (payment processing). We don't sell personal data, we don't run ads, and we don't share your information with data brokers.
Kids
Tripoff isn't directed at children, and children don't sign in or vote directly. When you tell us a child's age range as part of planning your trip, that's information you — an adult — are giving us about your own family, used only to shape which destinations make sense for your party.
Your data, your call
Want your account or a specific trip's data deleted? Email us — during alpha this is a manual process, not a self-serve button yet, but we'll take care of it.
